How do I apply?
Click on the How to Apply Tab and take the Interest Survey. Be sure to reply to all forms of Communication.
Where will we live and how long?
Students will reside for 5 1/2 months in Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base. Housing will consist of a college dorm type of environment separate from ChalleNGe Academy Cadets.
CNA/CHHA SCHOLARS WILL BE ON GROUNDS FOR APPROXIMATELY 11 WEEKS.
Will we wear uniforms and how do they look?
Students will wear a business casual uniform that consists of a Polo top and Khaki bottoms.
*TRADES/SCHOOL UNIFORMS VARY DEPENDING ON PATHWAY.
Is it true that we get to have our Cell Phones?
Yes, this is true, but this is going to be a privilege and can be taken away if abused. Cell phones will be allowed ONLY on Weekends (Cellphones will be turned in to STAFF during the week) Being a responsible adult is key in order to maintain this perk.
Can anybody apply for this program?
No, you must be a California ChalleNGe Academy graduate (Grizzly, Sunburst, or Discovery) in order to meet one of the requirements to apply. This program is exclusive to just ChalleNGe graduates.
What School/College will we be attending?
Students will attend Long Beach City College located in Long Beach, Ca. approximately 8 miles from Los Alamitos JFTB.
How old do I have to be?
You must be between the ages of 17 1/2 and 20 years of age.

Do I have to have a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D)?
Yes, you must have either a High School Diploma or G.E.D. in order to meet one of the requirements to apply for CAJC.

Can I switch career courses while I’m in the program?
NO, you cannot switch courses while in the program. Be sure to do as much research as you can on the pathway of your choice and what it entails in order to make an informed decision. You will not be allowed to switch.
